# Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Root Cause Analysis, or RCA, helps explain why a specific incident occurred, document the investigation results, and provide a clear explanation to everyone involved.

In Swarmica, an RCA is created as a separate document linked to an incident or ticket. You can prepare it manually or generate a draft with AI using a template.

What you can do with an RCA document

generate a draft with AI and then review and approve it;

use different templates for different scenarios;

separate customer-facing and internal information;

export the document to PDF or Markdown.

RCA and knowledge base articles

RCA explains why a specific incident occurred, while a KCS article stores a solution that can be reused for similar requests. An RCA is created after the causes are established; a KCS article can be started as soon as symptoms and a possible solution are identified.

How to enable RCA

Activate the
rca
feature flag.
