#194: Cost Saving

Отредактирована: сегодня

Cost Saving is another key metric of the KCS Dashboard, located at the top of the main Dashboard page:

The specified percentage is the current economic benefit, the ratio of actual support expenses to potential support expenses, taking into account the cost of a request. Potential expenses include the cost of preempted requests.

By clicking on the hexagon, you will go to the 'Budget Control' section with budget settings and detailed analytics of support expenses:

We recommend reading the article on reporting settings. The same article discusses all the nuances of displaying the time scale inside each report.

In this section, the recommended reporting period should be 12 months. Reducing the period entails a decrease in the accuracy of indicators.

Hovering over any column or point on the graph in the presented reports allows you to see its exact value:

Budget

To build financial statements and control budget funds, you must first enter the budget allocated for support. Before setting the budget, there are recommendations for its accounting:

Enter the budget amount, determine the beginning and end of its validity using the calendar icon:

Then click 'Add'. This way, you can, for example, enter the budget for each month:

Or for each year:

The 'Update' button next to the existing budget allows you to immediately update the calculations in the reports on this page according to the new budget. Just pay attention to the reporting period settings and change them if necessary.

Cost of Solving a Request

This diagram shows the dynamics of the cost of solving one request, both solved and preempted. The vertical axis shows the cost of the request, and the horizontal axis shows the time scale, configurable in the reporting settings.

Each column of the diagram shows the average cost of solving one request in each segment of the reporting period. Below the diagram is detailed information about the formula for calculating the cost of a request.

Economic Benefit

This combined chart shows the difference between actual and potential expenses. This difference is the economic benefit. The economic benefit in each time segment is shown by green columns.

Details of the calculation of actual expenses, potential expenses, and economic benefit are in the text block 'Cost Saving', located next to the chart:

The real percentage of economic benefit can be seen in the '[KCS Dashboard](https://support.swarmica.com/article/ru/187-panel-upravleniya-kcs-obshij-obzor.html "Overview of the KCS Dashboard')' in the 'Cost Saving' hexagon at the top of the page.

The economic benefit goal can be set by clicking on the edit icon to the right of it in the 'Cost Saving' block:

You will go to the 'Target Values of Metrics' section, the desired metric is called 'Cost Saving'.
