Symptoms

When checking the status of a Telegram channel, the following message is displayed:

Error: Missing permissions: ['can_read_all_group_messages']

Solution

Turn off the 'Private Groups' setting

1. The bot owner must go to https://t.me/botfather
2. Select the target bot (this can also be done through the Botfather app)
3. Go to settings Bot settings > Group privacy
